Top Yo - TOPYO x yoyobarista collaboration!

New collaboration from Top Yo x yoyobarista featuring an innovative new bi-metal construction - The Robusta!

The Robusta is a really creative design that utilizes a 3 piece 'through-structured' construction. The inner hub and outer ring are machined from 7003 Aluminum and sandwiched between them is the denser steel weight ring. All press fit together to form a one of a kind weight distribution that plays so good!

This construction technique achieves a higher concentration of weight placed exactly where they want it and gives the Robusta really impressive spin power and stability in play. The angular profile offers a fast agile feel and the rounded rims keep it comfortable in the hand.

And the Robusta looks just as good as it performs! The visible steel ring in the cup and in the profile gives this yo-yo a beautiful aesthetic that will standout in any collection!

This is an odd bimetal

I gotta say the first time I saw this yoyo I thought it looked very sleek and promising; Shape kind of reminded me of like a Cadence or something so I finally decided to buy one a month ago... However now that I've gotten it and played with it for a while it's a very different story. This yoyo is very much a reluctant mover, which usually is not a bad thing... Yoyos like the Grasshopper GTX and the Handrover are descent yoyos that with their tanky play, makes up for that greatly in that they offer solid stability when spinning. But the way the weight distribution is designed on this yoyo makes it very unreliable for both speed and horizontal compared to most other bimetals. It doesn't take more than a gentle nod or a light push to put this of its axis when playing with it; It doesn't feel like there are any benifits for this yoyo to be a bimetal. If I were to compare this to some other throw maybe it would either be the Selene or maybe the Edge. But just kind of... Less. Which I'm not happy saying since I was really looking forward to trying it when I bought it.

Worth buying!

Light, floaty and powerful. Worth the 100$. I did have one problem with it though. If you ding it hard occasionally (because of the way this yoyo is constructed) the rings can come apart but push it back together and it feels brand new. Out of the box feels dead smooth and can handle any combo I throw at it. Highly recommend.
