Luftverk -   Injection Machined Innovative Plastic

Charcoal Grey
$ 29.99

The very first time we threw the plastic prototype that Luftverk was quietly showing at the National YoYo Contest our jaws dropped. It played so amazingly smooth and solid it felt like it had to be made out of a new material. Dense and precise like metal but with a fun and relaxed feel that only plastic can deliver this yoyo is a true merging of the best of two worlds in one incredible design. This could be the yoyo of the year!

From Luftverk:

This is the Plastic Fulvia, an “Injection Machined” yoyo which is a technique that achieves that classic yoyojam over molded bearing seat feel but the quality of a premium machined aluminum.

It is first injection molded into a large plastic blank then the profile is completely CNC machined. This is an independently funded project that I have dumped a monumental amount of money into, so it’s pretty surreal to see it completed! The R&D, prototyping and testing for this product has been so insane.

I made a blog post about the complex manufacturing process, design struggles and the benefits of this manufacturing technology which can be found in the blog post.

Refreshing New Feeling

I first saw this yoyo at the FL yoyo contest, the vendor there recommended I try it out, and told me the story behind it. On first impression it was cool and refreshing - a different feel, and unique when there's so many yoyos to choose from. I picked one up and played with it all the time.

Last week I got my nephew into yoyoing and I gave him my plastic Fulvia as his starter. He seems to really like it and he's picking up new tricks daily! So, I highly recommend trying this yoyo no matter if you've been yoyoing for 15 years or 15 minutes (as long as you know how to bind, lol)

By plastic Yoyo on the market

Can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. It took my best speed, and tech, combos like a breeze, While also being very good at 5a and finger grinds.

Excellent Throw, Even Compared To Metal

The Fulvia is an excellent yoyo! Perfectly smooth, stable, long spinning and, despite being heavy, does not play heavy...but it also doesn't play light and floaty.

The Fulvia is on the larger side, so it takes getting used to the diameter. The design also makes rejections kind of "sticky", so you have to hone in on skills in that department. Other than that, this yoyo is flawless.

I ordered right from Jeffery, and immediately changed pads as they were slipping on the string. About a week later, my Fulvia had one of the halves split right down the diameter, only the response pad holding it together. This was after only minor taps on the ground. He sent me a new one, and it immediately played better; the pads gave tight binds. So clearly I had a faulty Fulvia, despite it visually having no issues, and the replacement has been playing well, and no issues with durability. My class is also learning on the Fulvia, and zero issues with any of them as far as durability is concerned.
