Say hello to Duncan's newest bimetal design, the GTR!

Working on the GTR BETA, Duncan took strong design notes from the Grasshopper GTX, but certainly weren’t afraid to stray from that path. The goal wasn’t to make a replacement for the well-received and much-loved Grasshopper GTX design, rather Duncan sought to create a unique design that compliments it. To Duncan the GTR is to the Grasshopper GTX what ice cream is to milkshakes: Similar, but individually delicious for unique and distinguishable reasons.

The design process itself was intricate and full of small subtleties that made big changes. Working on a bimetal design always entails hours of tuning the body and focusing on the stainless steel ring to optimize both durability and playability, and this time was no exception. They spent a lot of our time honing in on this design. The new 'GTR' and upcoming GTR lineup represent Duncan's most premium models in terms of construction and precision followed closely by their GTX / X series of yo-yos.

Drafted in the USA, designed in Japan, and taking notes from their team, Duncan feels they have made something really excellent with the new GTR.

GTR 'Beta' ended up being the winning design Duncan moved forward with. Design remains the same but a few GTR Beta are now available at a slightly reduced price!
