Foxtails - Hand Made Strings by Todd Rollenhagen!

$ 5.99

Foxtails yoyo string are hand made in Colorado by Todd Rollenhagen. These are made from 100% polyester.

From Todd:

I started making string a few years ago just because I wanted to make a string that I liked in a material that I liked to be able to have string whenever I wanted, there was a lot of research and trial & error involved but I finally had something, my original ones were single color. When I brought them to club people absolutely loved them. Then I figured out how to weave the colors together to create fades, and the rest was history! I make each one by hand using a very simple setup that I built from old shipping boxes, BBQ skewers, and bent nails. By making them by hand I am able to feel the tension in each individual string as I make them to assure that it's perfect before tying it off. Because I use such a rudimentary rig, with variance in each new wrap there will be a subtle variance in the way the colors connect, sometimes overlapping, and sometimes right on the mark, but this makes each string unique.

All fades are made from 2 different color thread, no dye is ever used in the process to ensure there is zero coloration of your yoyo or your fingers.

These strings will last a very long time, one of the first I ever made was on an everyday yoyo with heavy use and lasted 1 year, 3 months. A good wash when they get dirty will prolong that life too.

These are a little "crispy" to start, but once they break in they are incredibly soft, and are even softer after a wash. They will hold tension like no other, slacks and whips are a breeze... Even in the breeze..

They are lovingly referred to by users as yoyo game genie strings.

Strawberry Sunset: This color was the very first fade string that I ever made. My buddy and fellow club member Cisco asked for a ton of them as soon as he saw them and he got to name them! Pink and yellow are both blacklight reactive and super bright.

Whattuh malone: If it makes you think of a delicious treat on a summer day, or a tattooed rapper then they've done their job! This color is the signature of LK glass! Green and pink are both blacklight reactive.

Gilded canary: This is my signature color, made with my favorite color orange and super bright yellow. I love the way these 2 colors combine and pop, and whenever I make string for myself I always make these ones! Orange and yellow are both blacklight reactive.

Gobllin Guts: These were originally requested by Phil (yoyodad76) and I had never put this combo together so I let him name them! Green and orange are both blacklight reactive.

Bobafret Lazer: An original commission from my friend and fellow club member Dave, he wanted a subtle fade, and they turned out so good that I wanted to share with everyone! The colors almost bleed into each other and it's really subtle, but a great combination! Green and yellow are both blacklight reactive.

Aurora: Coral colored thread is one of my favorites, and surprisingly one of the more difficult to find in the size I need. So I experimented mixing orange and pink in different ways and finally did a fade, it's another subtle fade but I love the way these turned out, reminds me of an Aurora Borealis! Orange and pink are both blacklight reactive.

Alt. Banana: These colors just reminded me of the banana sticker and they look really good together! When I make these up I usually end up just seeing green for a while! Yellow is blacklight reactive. Blue is not reactive.

String Noir: Signature string of Andrew Doering classic black & white like an old noir film! These are my most difficult strings to use because black becomes near invisible when you play, but the white is visible so it looks like you only have half a string! Are you up for a challenge? White is blacklight reactive. Black is not reactive.
