Zero Gravity Return Tops - As powerful and Agile as the sword it's named after!

From ZGRT: According to the legend... Durendal was the sword of Roland, a legendary paladin and leader of the rearguard of Charlemagne’s army. It was one of the four Holy Swords forged through the means of alchemy and magic and was capable of cutting through giant boulders of stone with a single strike.

We were intrigued with this story and it inspired us to create a throw that was powerful and agile and able to perform complex tricks with precision (and maybe bring a bit of magic too to your game).

We decided to design the Durendal with a slightly smaller diameter and width than a regular sized throw while maintaining the feeling and power of a regular sized one. It’s weight and shape were also key to achieve our vision. After several trials, we found that 62.7 gr worked perfectly to hit this throw’s sweet spot-- just right for its size, shape and SS rims.

We had a lot of fun designing the Durendal. Although the shape looks like a straight W, the catch zone has a subtle curvature that reduces the chance of friction between the string and the yoyo. That meticulous and precise curvature was exactly what we wanted to exalt in the Durendal’s ability to perform. It maintains its balance and power when in the air and lands with incredible stability and momentum, ready for your next trick.

The colourways we chose for the Durendal will transport you back to medieval times where the great knights, wizards and paladins fought to bring back freedom to the people-- Our hope is that the Durendal brings that same inspiration to you as you throw.

One Of The Best

It makes me sad to see there's still a few Durendals in stock. Because I might just buy another one.

All I knew about Zero Gravity was I really, really wanted an El Mijo, and I would never, ever find one in stock. Then, one day, I saw a review by Nate Martsolf on the ZGRT Durendal. I did a little digging and the first thing that came to mind was: it's a little Draupnir.

After about half an hour of play the Durendal was tied for first place in my personal collection. At half the price of the yoyo it tied with, the Miracle, my mind was officially blown. My son watched and waited for his chance to try it out, amazed at how easily I was landing tricks. When he got his hands on it he too was blown away. He rated it right up there with his favorite, the Outlier 3.

I have zero negative criticism for the Durendal. The finish is immaculate for perfect grinds. The profile, with its extra inset V towards the response zone, makes for super clean, snappy binds. It's dead smooth and extremely stable, plays fast, and changes direction easily. And it spins. Forever.

I reviewed another yoyo saying it might not make you feel like a bad ass but it's super fun. The Durendal is super fun. It also makes you feel super bad ass. Make no mistake, the Durendal is easily one of the best yoyos around. For the price it'd be a huge mistake not to get one while you still can.
