Duncan -   New and improved Haymaker!

$ 119.99

The latest edition to the Duncan bi-metal lineup is the amazing new Haymaker X!

The engineering and design process for the Haymaker X was Duncan's most difficult to-date. Their design team spent countless hours tuning the body and press fitting the stainless steel rings to ensure durability and stability on every throw. The result is a true masterpiece!

The new Haymaker X is an ancestor of the original Haymaker, but the relation is a little more distant. Duncan made some serious changes to the X, and they are fantastic! They added extra steps in the cup to improve maneuverability, increased the diameter to make this a full-sized yo-yo. and distributed the 65.5 grams of mass to maximize stability and spin time without adding too much weight. The end result is a serious performer!

The Duncan Draupnir

When I first saw it I declared the HaymakerX to be Duncan's version of the Draupnir. I made a quick overlay to test my theory and, looking at it along with the specs, the HaymakerX is definitely Duncan's version of the Draupnir. The differences are extremely subtle: a very slight concave in the profile to decrease string contact, and a weight increase of 1.8 grams -almost certainly in the steel rims.

This yoyo is utter perfection. It's deader than dead smooth, ridiculously stable, offensively nimble, and spins like nothing else I own (on a matching bearing). The finish is amazing. Like actually amazing. Grinds are super clean, and the flat hub and V-shaped body make finger spins almost automatic. Like I said, perfection.

I used to keep a couple yoyos out for easy access -my favorite players so to speak. The ones I most enjoyed and most often played. A few days after I got the HaymakerX I put them away. It's just aggressive enough to give you that bad ass feeling when you land every trick with ease, but it's still chill enough when you just want to relax and have fun.

I haven't said this since the 80's but, once again, my favorite yoyo is a Duncan.

Amazingly smooth, powerful, and stable

My Haymaker X spins with such balance that you can't even really see it spinning at all-- absolutely no wobble or vibe. The rims give this incredible lateral stability, which can take a few minutes to get used to if you're used to a "floaty" style yoyo. It powers through anything, and keeps spinning through long combos. It comes with white response pads, which aren't as grippy as I like (I much prefer Duncan's red pads to these), so I'll probably silicone it myself soon. The finish is smooth and works great for grinding.
Very much a work of art!
